I live in Vietnam. I am looking for a medical laboratory who does DNA paternity testing, even if it means requesting a kit to take the samples myself. A company based anywhere in the Asia Pacific region will be fine.

I am pregnant with my ex-boyfriend's child. He is back with an ex and wants nothing to do with me or the baby until paternity is proven. One of my friends just told me that hospitals will do the paternity test if he is there at the birth, just like any other lab test. Is this true? I had assumed I would have to officially go to the child support collection agency and go through court with lawyers. Can anyone shed light on this? I'm in Iowa.

I found a company called DNA Plus online but I've heard its a scam.

There had been results from DNA/Paternity Testing Sites that between the following:

Men who are confident of the paternity of a child is 90% right. (1 out of 10 is not the father)
Men who deny paternity of a child is correct 33% of the time. (1 out of 3 is not the father)

Do you think it is the father's or potential father's best interest to know whether the child is potentially his?

What are your viewpoint on this? And please explain.

The Statistics are from the NY Times . . . not maury . . . why would we watch a show that promotes male bashing.

I know how the paternity tests read (exclusion, inclusion) and all about the genetic markers, but how accurate is genetic testing. How possible is it for DNA testing to identify a man that is not the father as the father, or a man who is the father as not?

To Jetfighter for his comment- I know who my childs father is. I'm asking because some girls coming around saying shes pregnant with my little brothers baby and I was doing some research on paternity testing. Maybe next time you should keep your snide comments to yourself.

I want to to know if a DNA paternity test can tell the difference between non-twin brothers.

When was DNA discovered and who realized it was for use in paternity testing? Is it accurate?
