How come black women can never keep track of their sexual partners? And end up having a ton of kids with 10+ men? What is wrong with these people?

like... how likely is it that the lab messed up?

Say if he doubted a child is his can he get a test done or is it up to the mother? Does a man need a woman's consent?

Is it different for a child who is born and a pregnant woman's fetus? So the rights differ if it's a pregnancy and if it's after birth?
@pearl - no I'm taking about if a man wants to get a test done, can he get it done. I know women have all the rights already.

I am sure it is heart breaking for father and child to find out 10-15 years later that the child they brought up is not theirs. Surely this should be done to allow partners of the mother not to be deceived into bringing up someone else's child.

I live in South Africa and will probably be taking one of these tests. If someone could give me some info about a company or two they have used would be great as well as some general info you might know. I am abit kind of sceptical about these tests.

What do you think? Will this solve the problem of men denying paternity and women intentionally naming the wrong man as the father of their child?

Wondering if anyone has ever used one of those at home, private DNA tests and, if so, how sure were you of the accuracy of the test? How long did it take you to get the results?

These days, DNA test are easy to get and considered very accurate. In the case where the identity of the father is in question, a DNA test is pretty much the definitive decision maker, and can have huge financial impacts when you consider things like child support.

However, I'm curious how paternity was legally established, for purposes of child support, before DNA testing was available?

There is a following report on MSNBC news.
