When having a paternity DNA test, how accurate are the kits you mail off?

Is it possible to receive paternity results over the phone?

I was just wondering. I live in California I'm not sure if that matters but if anyone knows the answer to this or could direct me to a site I'd appreciate it. Once again I was wondering is it possible to receive the paternity test results over the phone rather than in the mail or in person or all three.
